I am a mix of traditional and modern beliefs. I've been a long-term stay-at-home mother and proud supporter of my (ex) husband and children, yet now am happily engaged in my own career teaching college students to embrace the art of communication.
I've cautioned my twenty-somethings about the dangers of meeting someone online, yet here I am doing the same thing myself!
I grew up without any technology except the radio, the telephone, and the TV, and that only had 4 channels. Nowadays I find myself constantly updating my knowledge of technology to stay ahead of my students and to teach them online, because of COVID.
I remember the days of sitting by the corded telephone, waiting for someone special to call, yet find myself now irritated when that text I just sent isn't immediately returned - LOL!
My life hasn't followed the normal path, by any means, but I am a huge fan of Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken" and see so many similarities of it to my life. I also see the handprint of God all over my life, and have seen Him save me from ruin, time and time again. I wouldn't have made it to where I am today without His loving care and protection over me.
In the process of living my life, I have come to a better understanding of myself and others, and know that I am happier and more fulfilled when I have the right person in my life. Humans are meant to be in connection with each other and my pursuit of the right connection has led me here.
I'm equally comfortable in a fancy dress and heels, enjoying dinner in an elegant restaurant followed by the symphony orchestra or live theatre, as I am in jeans and a sweatshirt, hiking a beautiful trail or walking along the beach. I love exploring places I've never been, either in my area or abroad. I love a comfortable night at home cuddling on the couch and watching something that engages my mind, or long drives just because, or weekend trips to anywhere fun. Life is meant to be experienced.
I'm looking for the RIGHT person to spend quality time with. That person believes in himself, is confident in who he is but is always willing to learn new things, is adventurous and interested in life and people, isn't ruled by new things or ideas but isn't ignorant to them either, is unashamedly affectionate, and understands that none of us have gotten to where we are now without the help of God and others. All the rest (hobbies, interests, looks, etc.) is just "stuff" and makes you who you are.
While I'm mostly content with my life right now, I'm open to the future, too - just like that "road not taken," and would love to see if that might include you.
